The power of Uprooting

I was at the dental office a week ago and I was having a procedure done. The oral surgeon mentioned that I needed to take immediate action to save a tooth that had been infected. She stated that the procedure was called A root canal.

She explained to me the process in which she would go into the root of the tooth, located under the gum and then she’d use a special tool to remove the damaged or infected nerve. Then she’d clean the root area and seal it and then crown the tooth to protect it from any future damage.

Okay, Soo does this process sound familiar, toooo, maybe salvation… Or healing of any sort, or perhaps Deliverance?

You may be wondering… Why is uprooting important?

Ecclesiastes 3:2 Well let’s take a plant for instance. Some plants are planted only for a season and at the end of it, they lose fruit and it’s obvious that they should be uprooted and discarded. Then there are other plants in which, they became diseased and infected, or they were disfigured and didn’t grow properly. An uprooting is needed to take place.

As I sat there in the chair of my surgeon with my mouth pried open by a dental device in which I know not the name of, I could feel different objects being inserted; from a painful needle to numb the area, to a drill to shave the tooth down, to a measuring tool to determine the removal of the nerve, to the suction and magnetostrictive ultrasonic scaler (the water squirting tool). Of course there were a number of other tools used that I’m not familiar with. There were also various smells and a whole lot of pressure.

Let’s talk about that for a moment.

Pressure… Anytime there is a process.. Any type of process, pressure exists.

My oral surgeon warned me that I’d feel a bit of pressure and that I should resist as she worked.

That is powerful to me, because while she pulled one way..I was too tug another.. Not in a vigorous way, but just slight and gentle in the opposite direction.

I noticed this root canal procedure took hours.., not that I had any where to be, but just taking in the whole experience, I hadn’t taken into account that this was a timely event. Nonetheless, it was one that needed to get taken care of immediately.

So back to why Uprooting is important with our spiritual lives.

Infection and disease… Not in the medical illness form.. Plague our souls, spirits and even our bodies. The same way that a tooth gets injected and needs immediate attention… So is the case with our spirit. When left untreated or unattended, it either spreads to other healthy areas or come out of us.

The image I get when I see an infected soul or spirit… Is when someone has a small black or red stain on their heart. Then because they see it as minor, they neglect it and then it becomes painful… But by then they are unsure what the pain is because it has spread and taken over and now their mind ( their center of action) is in danger. Now when they speak and are around people, the pain pours out in their speech and in their actions towards certain people…

Do you see it? Do you see the imagery?

Well, that is most of us. Many of us including myself have some unhealthy habits and or mindsets that need immediate attention in which an uprooting must take place. We need to undergo a spiritual and mental Root Canal treatment.

As I reflect on this year and with expectation, looking forward to the next, I keep hearing the Lord saying,Uproot (Close the door), Cleanse, and Repair (Restore).

This is not a procedure we can do on our own. I repeat, We are Not the Spiritual Surgeons. Jehovah is. He has his own special tools he uses to remove pain, habits, mindsets, sin. That being stated, will you join me in uprooting any sin, any negative mindsets and negative habits that will only cause deeper damage to our beautiful spirits and souls? Warning, there will be pressure and discomfort.

While this year is still in our favor, it would do more Justice to close it out with old habits behind us and with newness And results of restoration ahead.

Personally, I know my Abba has good things for me and he’s waiting on me to fully uproot certain mindsets, so he can fully repair and Crown 👑 me with newness. Since he is an O so good Father, I know he has the best for you as well and also wants to Crown 👑 you in Glory.

Uprooting is quite simple. Since all sin (also known as infections and diseases of the spirit made by our soul) is stemmed from pride… We must get rid of the decay of pride and to crown ourselves in humility. According to the below scripture, we also mustn’t forget that unhealthy habits, sin, wrong mindsets are like weight.

Hebrews 12:1 says that As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.-Passion Translation

Prayer: Abba(Father) in heaven, I know that you are for me and Not against me. I need your help Papa. I come boldly before you at your throne of Grace, sincerely and humbly that you help me lay aside every unhealthy mindset and attitude, uproot every weight of sin, and bad habit. Lord, I don’t want to be like this, I want every decay and infection in my heart to be cut at the root and thrown out. I want to be cleansed, filled with you, all of you, all things good like you and crowned with restoration. I don’t want to go backwards,I don’t want to keep getting infected, I don’t want any of it. I just want to run this race and know that I’m Victorious because my Lord stands for Victory. I am asking you to remove all the decay and disease, all the stains and pain, please. This day as I close this prayer, I permanently drop all the unnecessary weight, I permanently give you the surgery tools and I walk away crowned, renwened and protected by your Glorious hand, in Jesus name, Amen.
